Early Identification of Neglect
Early intervention is paramount when identifying and responding to neglect we understand practitioners want to put the right support in place and prevent situations escalating, but at the same time they are holding risk and feeling uneasy/unsure about the right/best way forward. Our course will support staff to consider some of the key areas and impact on practice including:
- Working with intuition
- The importance of Professional curiosity
- What is their role?
- What is acceptable?
- How to ask probing and difficult questions without damaging working relationships.
This course will be useful for those working in early help services and those in universal services such as children centres, nurseries and schools.
It will provide a safe place to explore neglect and increase confidence around building effective relationships, professional curiosity and asking questions/probing to gain information. We will share tools and techniques to support their work.
